Dr. Naveen P Singh, Member (Official)

Dr Naveen P Singh, is currently a Member at CACP, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He is on deputation from ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics & Policy Research (NIAP) since October, 2022, where he was serving as Principal Scientist since 2015. He has previously served at ICAR- NIASM as Principal Scientist (2012-2015) and ICRISAT from 2008-2012 as a Senior Scientist & Coordinator of Asian Climate Adaptation Policy program and also worked at CIMMYT as Post-Doctoral Fellow during 2000-2002. Prior to this, he was a Scientist at ICAR- IARI New Delhi, where he taught courses in Marketing Management and Agri. Development policy to Doctoral and Masters Students. Dr Singh has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of Futures Market, Price Analysis, Impact Assessment, Research Priority Setting, Conservation Agriculture, Participatory Research and Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change. He has practical experience and knowledge of a wide range of Agricultural systems, Diversification and other agricultural developmental issues in Semi-Arid tropics of Asia and China. He has good theoretical and applied knowledge of the intricate issues of socio-economic research, critical for livelihood upliftment of rural poor and small farmholders. Moreover, his recent work emphasizes reorientation of research agenda towards developing farm practices and technologies suited to agro-ecology and mainstreaming climate change agenda in developmental policy landscape.

Dr Singh has been a prolific writer and as a part of his academic work, he has published more than 100 research papers in national and international journals, two books (Springer & CABi), more than two dozen articles on topical issues and several policy papers and briefs. He has several awards, professional recognitions and membership of editorial board of reputed journals to his credit. He is Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) since 2021. He holds a Doctorate degree in Agriculture Economics from ICAR-Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi.
